Kitchen Sink Upgrade

The Before...

The basic builder grade stainless steel sink that is scratched and never looks clean.... time to replace it!

I found a beautiful Karran Quartz drop-in 33 inch x 22 inch white quartz double equal bowl kitchen sink from Lowes... well actually I ended up with multiple because one had a minor crack from shipping.  I contacted Karran, they sent me a new sink and told me to throw away the cracked sink.  Since it was so minor I asked a neighbor if they wanted it and they gladly accepted the free sink...And my help installing their sink after I figured out how to do mine first.

Gathered all my supplies

Disconnect, remove old sink and clean old caulk off countertop.

Drill Dishwasher Vent Hole

Line hole in counter with caulk and place new sink in counter. Some like to install the faucet before placing the sink in the counter, I found this made it difficult for me to carry the sink (by myself) so I installed the sink, then installed the faucet.

Trim Pipes

Since the new drains were deeper, I had to trim the pipes slightly to make it all align again.

Reinstall

Reinstall garbage disposal.  It's not too bad once you have the clamp in place.

Slight slope on drain

The After...

Love this clean look!  I also like that the center sink divider is lower making it easier to wash a cookie sheet.
